Training Workshop and Official Launch of the Monitoring and Evaluation Portal of Cambodia Digital Economy and Business

Phnom Penh: On October 20, 2023, from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm at Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh, the Digital Economy and Business Committee (DEBC) organized the “Training Workshop and Official Launch of the Monitoring and Evaluation Portal of Cambodia Digital Economy and Business”, under the lead and coordination of H.E. Dr. Chhieng Vanmunin, Deputy Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the DEBC. The event was attended by a total of 96 high-ranking officials representing relevant ministries and institutions and technical officials. This event is designed for two main purposes: (1) to officially launch the Monitoring and Evaluation Portal of the Cambodia Digital Economy and Business, and (2) to guide how to use the portal, including data entry and reports of the ministries and institutions in charge of implementation within the framework of monitoring and evaluation of the Cambodia digital economy and business and the Three-Year Rolling Action Plan 2023-2025 of the DEBC.

The event began with a keynote speech by H.E. Dr. Taing Nguonly, Deputy Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the DEBC, focusing on the Cambodia Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework 2021-2035 and the Three-Year Rolling Action Plan 2023-2025 of the DEBC. Next, H.E. Dr. Chhieng Vanmunin gave welcoming remarks, highlighting that the first phase of the Monitoring and Evaluation Portal of the Cambodia Digital Economy and Business is considered a new achievement of the DEBC. This achievement will contribute to the implementation of the Cambodia Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework 2021-2035 and increase the effectiveness of monitoring and evaluation between the relevant ministries and institutions with the DEBC. At the same time, His Excellency also emphasized that the organization of this event is part of the dissemination and official launching, as well as guidance on how to use and enter data and reports into the Monitoring and Evaluation Portal of the Digital Economy and Business. In this sense, it refers to the readiness to begin collecting data and reports from relevant ministries and institutions after the event is completed. 

In addition, the H.E. Dr. Chhieng Vanmunin also provided recommendations and guidance to ministries and institutions in charge to make the implementation of the Cambodia Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework 2021-2035 more effective, which is to continue to participate in the implementation of the Three-Year Rolling Action Plan 2023-2025 of the DEBC, and cooperation in providing data and reports in accordance with the action plan and time frame. The event went smoothly and successfully achieved the expected outcomes, with active participation, sharing spirit, and great attention from the representatives of relevant ministries and institutions. Additionally, the presentation of the working group of the General Secretariat of the DEBC and direct data entry testing of relevant ministries and institutions will contribute to an important basis for promoting the efficiency of monitoring and evaluation of Cambodia's digital economy and business, as well as contribute significantly to the development of the digital economy and business in Cambodia
