Workshop on “Cambodia Digital Enablers”
Phnom Penh: On September 8, 2022, at the Phnom Penh Hotel, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Digital Economy and Business Committee, and the Techno Startup Centre co-organized the workshop on “Cambodia Digital Enablers.”. This workshop was presided by H.E. Dr. Kong Marry, Under Secretary of State, Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Secretary General, General Secretariat of the Digital Economy and Business Committee, with the participation of top government officials, officials from relevant ministries and institutions and organizations under the Ministry of Economy and Finance in a total of 120. The primary purpose of the workshop is to promote and raise digital awareness and the use of Cambodia Digital Enablers, including Cambodia Data Exchange (CamDX), CamDigiKey, and Digital Signature.
H.E. Dr. Kong Mary delivered a keynote address highlighting the importance, benefits, and sustainability of the three key digital foundations in line with the Royal Government of Cambodia's Digital Economy and Society policy. This policy aims to promote the greater use of digital technology to provide growth for the national economy and more efficient public services. In this workshop, there were three presentations such as CamDX by Mr. Yin Kak Pheng, CamDigiKey by Mr. Tit Dara Yong, and Digital Signature by Mr. Peng Chhay Leng, with active participation in the questions and answers forum between the guest speaker and the participants after the presentation on each topic.
It should be noted that over the past two years, CamDX has expanded its reach to public services such as the first and second phases of the Online Business Registration System through the information technology platform and the Global Travel Assessment System (GTAS), the system of validation application on guarantee an invitation to ease the travel of investors visiting Cambodia during the Covid-19 Outbreak (already postponed due to the Covid-19) and Electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC).
